DREAM CAMP
Summer-long, Community Dream Research with Archetypes & the Land

ABOUT DREAM CAMP:
In the summer of 2020 a group of Middlebury College students of dance, writing and theater spent the summer dreaming, farming, living together. In these early Covid days, this project came as an attempt at reconnection, a weaving with the liminal, a mending of the forced isolation. It was an attempt at creating a container for the emergent future stories that were coming through these times of great upheaval, a re-imaging of the myths that shape culture and seed new directions.
Each artist worked with inner and outer archetypes and merged these two beings as composite teachers with whom they dreamt with and learned from all summer. Our final project was an immersive art piece with dance and poetic narration influenced by and formed through daily eco-somatic practice, shamanic dreamwork and the study of dream weaving through which the shared story, the emergent re-creation myth was born. We invited the local community to receive the piece and participate in moments of its making.
